Buy Bitcoin hashrate, measured at your pool

This is the mechanics page: how orders are priced, how terms work, how delivery is measured at your pool, and how billing draws down your balance. Everything you'd want to know before placing an order.

Billed on delivered PH-days Any Stratum pool Daily BTC invoicing Refundable balance

If you want the brand story, the homepage has it. This page is for people who buy hashrate the way you buy power: rate first, term second, measurement always. Below is the full lifecycle of an IonGrid order, covering quoting, activation, delivery measurement, daily invoicing, and refunds, with the live calculator to put numbers on it.

Billed only on delivery

Your cost is delivered PH-days, measured as accepted hashrate at the pool you nominate. A day of weak delivery is automatically a day of lower invoice.

Term structure, not tiers

Flexible tracks the live rate daily. Fixed terms lock the quoted rate for the window, with the 30 day premium covering difficulty and market drift. Pick the term that matches your view.

An order book that answers questions

Live accepted hashrate series, delivery progress against target, daily invoice lines, and a transaction log. If your auditor asks, the answer is already on screen.

Quote

Your exact daily and total cost, at today's live rate.

Pick volume and term. The calculator uses the live flexible rate you would be billed at today.

The life of an order

Every order follows the same auditable path. You fund a BTC balance, build a quote at the live rate, and submit with your pool routing attached. As soon as your balance covers the quote, the order activates automatically and starts hashing, with no manual approval and no waiting on a desk. From that moment the dashboard shows accepted hashrate at your pool.

At each UTC midnight, the previous day is invoiced: delivered PH-days times your order rate, drawn from your balance in BTC. When the order ends, anything unspent is refundable. Nothing locks you in beyond the term you chose, with no exit fees and no stranded value.

  • Fund → quote → submit → hashing the moment funding covers it
  • Daily invoice at UTC close, only for delivered PH-days
  • Live dashboard: accepted EH/s, progress vs target, invoice lines
  • Unused balance refundable when the order ends

Choosing your term

Flexible is the spot product: the rate moves with the market, you can run it for a day or a year, and you can stop whenever the balance runs out. It suits buyers who want exposure to the live hashprice and the option to stop at any time.

Fixed terms are for known costs. Short fixed locks the quoted rate for up to a month; the 30 day product carries a stated premium because we absorb difficulty and market movement for the full window. If you think in tenors and budget lines, fixed is your product.

  • Flexible: tracks the live rate, top up or stop any time
  • Fixed short: rate locked for windows under 30 days
  • Fixed 30d: locked rate, premium covers difficulty drift
  • Minimum order 100 TH/s; exahash scale priced on a term sheet

Rent hashrate or buy it outright

Some buyers search for hashrate to buy, others want to rent hashrate for a week and walk away. On IonGrid both run through the same machinery. Renting maps to the flexible product: you point capacity at your pool, pay the live rate for each delivered day, and stop whenever the balance runs out or the job is done. There is no separate rental contract to negotiate and no penalty for leaving.

Buying outright is the fixed version of the same order: a locked rate over a defined window, for budgets that need a known number. Either way, delivery is measured at your pool, invoiced daily in BTC, and the unused balance stays refundable. Rent for flexibility, buy for certainty, and switch between the two whenever your situation changes.

How delivery is measured

The only delivery metric that matters is the one your own pool reports. IonGrid points contracted hashrate at any Stratum endpoint you nominate, whether a major pool, a small one, or a solo endpoint, and measures delivery as shares accepted there. You are billed only on what your pool actually accepts.

Because billing keys off the same measurement, the incentive is aligned by construction: we only earn on hashrate your pool actually accepted. You can reconcile every invoice line against your own pool's records, and you should.

Where the supply comes from

IonGrid routes each order across hashrate marketplaces and direct relationships with large-scale miners, switching to whichever supply is most efficient and reliable as your order lands. That depth fills large orders cleanly instead of walking up a thin order book, and keeps pricing tight to the public hashprice index even on size.

Exahash scale and recurring clips are priced on a term sheet by the institutional desk. See the institutional page for how funds and treasuries engage.

FAQ

buy hashrate, answered.

How exactly is my daily invoice calculated?+

Delivered PH-days at your pool times your order's BTC rate per PH-day. Delivery is measured as accepted hashrate at the pool you nominated; days of weak delivery produce smaller invoices automatically.

Can I change the pool an order points at?+

Yes, routing is yours. Pool changes are applied with notice (typically 24 hours), and any Stratum endpoint works: large public pools, small ones, or solo endpoints.

Is renting hashrate different from buying it?+

Same delivery, different commitment. Renting is the flexible product: live rate, run it day by day, stop any time. Buying fixed locks the rate for a defined window. Both are measured at your pool and invoiced daily in BTC.

What does the 30 day premium pay for?+

Rate certainty. Difficulty and hashprice move over a month; the fixed 30 day rate transfers that risk to us. If you would rather hold the market risk yourself, run flexible.

What's the minimum and maximum order?+

100 TH/s minimum for flexible and fixed short, 1 PH/s for fixed 30 day. There is no upper limit, and exahash scale orders are priced on a term sheet via the institutional desk.

How do refunds work?+

Unused balance is refundable in BTC on request through your dashboard's Support section. Fixed term orders ending early refund the undelivered remainder at the order rate.

Can I verify what I was billed against my own records?+

Yes, and you should: every invoice line is delivered PH-days times rate, and delivered PH-days reconcile against your own pool's accepted share records.

Build a quote at the live rate.

Build a quote at the live rate, fund in BTC, and reconcile every invoice against your own pool's records. That is the full process.
